Biography:
The german bassbaritone Thomas Huy studied at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Thomas Piffka and acting with Thomas Braus. During his studies he had many performances in the field of opera, operetta and concert. He sang at Wuppertaler Bühnen, Theater Solingen, Tonhalle Düsseldorf and Essen Cathedral. Among others he performed as Papageno, Colline (La Bohème) and Dr. Blind (Die Fledermaus), and among others he sang selections of Rocco and Don Fernando (Fidelio), Dulcamara (L'elisier d'amore), Baculus (Der Wildschütz), Osmin (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Don Giovanni and Leporello (Don Giovanni), Figaro (Mozart), Basilio (Il barbiere die Siviglia) and Zsupán (The Gypsy Baron). He works closely with Düsseldorf Lyric Opera.
Thomas Huy also appears in many experimental and modern music theater performances. He sang in many world premieres of the Literaturoper Köln and in the Ruhrtriennale. With various artists he realized interdisciplinary music theater productions and art performances. With bøhei_kollektiv he develops own pieces. For the Beethoven year they premiered Fideliø.
