Ray Lee

Ray Lee, tenor, was born in South Korea. He began his formal vocal training at the age of 17 as a baritone. In 2005 Ray attended Seoul National University with a focus on vocal performance. During his time there, Ray studied with Phillip Kang. In 2006 he finished third

Place at the Osaka International Music Competition in Japan. After studying for three years at Seoul National University, Ray moved to the renowned Juilliard School and studied with Dr. Robert White. In the summer of 2011, Ray made his operatic debut at the International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel-

Aviv, Israel, as Harlequin in Richard Strauss & # 39; Ariadne Auf Naxos.

After performing Ariadne on Naxos, he changed his vocal cords in 2011 from Steven Blier, music trainer at the Juilliard School, and tenor Frank Lopardo. He made his debut at BSOI as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni by WA Mozart. Ray received his Masters of Music from Mannes College, New School of Music and studied with Amy Burton and Joshua Greene. Ray was on the Central Florida Lyric Young Artist program in 2016 and is currently studying with Arthur Levy. In 2019 he took first place at the Grandi Voci International Opera Competition in Salzburg, Austria
