Ray Lee is a South Korean, lyric tenor whose bladed voice and stylish delivery make for an exciting young artist. Ray Lee began his formal studies as a baritone, at first attending Seoul National University, where he studied with Phillip Kang. In 2006, he placed 3rd in the Osaka International Music Competition. On graduating, Ray Lee moved to New York and enrolled at Juilliard, where he studied with Robert White. In 2011, he made his debut at the International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel-Aviv as Harlequin (Ariadne auf Naxos). On the advice of Frank Lopardo, and whilst still a student at

Juilliard, Ray Lee changed registers to tenor. He made his tenor debut as Don Ottavio at Brooklyn Summer Opera Institute. Ray Lee pursued further training at Mannes College, The New School of Music, where his teachers were Amy Burton and Joshua Greene, and from which he graduated with a

Masters of Music degree. His repertoire includes: Pinkerton; Rinuccio; Rodolfo (La bohème) and Romeo (Romeo et Juliette). He is currently a student of Arthur Levy and is resident in Berlin. In 2019, he placed 1st in the Grandi Voci International Opera Competition in Salzburg, Austria.
