Peter Clements
Peter Clements (tenor) was an architect and lecturer for several years at the University of Huddersfield in northern England. At the same time he pursued his career as a singer. He sang thirty opera roles in various opera houses throughout the UK. These included the title roles in Idomeneo, The Tales of Hoffmann, Andrea Chenier and Otello. He sang many of the standard tenor parts in Alfredo, Duke of Mantua, Manrico, Riccardo and Radames in Verdi repertoire and the famous Puccini roles as Rodolfo, Cavarradossi, Rinuccio and Calaf. His French repertoire includes Nadir in Les Pecheurs de Perles and Don José in Carmen. Later he began singing professionally and worked with the Opera House in Leeds, Opera North. After he sang Turridu in Cavalleria Rusticana, he debuted with Canio, his first role in Dusseldorf.
