The young tenor Raoul Simon Düsterhus was born in Gelsenkirchen and was involved in music from an early age.

In addition to participating in the children's and youth choir and vocal ensemble, he first learned to play the violin with Prof. Alexander Kramarov (Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf).

Together with his parents, mother Martina Hennig (soprano) and father Alfons Düsterhus (pianist, cantor), he forms the ensemble "Champagnerlaune" and gives chamber music concerts.

He received his first singing lessons from his mother at the age of 15 and initially sang as a baritone.

This was followed by classical singing studies at the Robert Schumann Academy of Music in Düsseldorf. There he was already involved in university-internal opera productions.

Raoul Simon Düsterhus has been working with Maestro Sherman Lowe in Italy since 2018 and has switched to lyrical tenor.
