Gereon Grundmann

The baritone Gereon Grundmann studies singing at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf with Prof. Ludwig Grabmeier. He received his first musical training from the Essen Cathedral Boys, of which he was a member for over ten years. Since the beginning of his studies he has participated in numerous productions at the Robert Schumann University, such as Die Zauberflöte (speaker), Gianni Schicchi (Betto di Signa), Rita (Gasparo), Le Comte Ory (governor) and Street Scene (Frank Maurrant), involved. In November 2012 Gereon Grundmann could be heard as a soloist with the choir of the Salzburg Cultural Association and the youth symphony orchestra of the Tonhalle Düsseldorf with Mozart's Requiem both in Salzburg and in the Tonhalle Düsseldorf. In May 2013 he made his role debut at the Krefeld / Mönchengladbach Opera House as “Dr. Cajus ”in The Merry Wives of Windsor. He was also seen there in this role at the resumption in the 2013/14 season. He completed his Bachelor of Music in June last year with a major grade of 1.0. In November 2014 he was heard in the role of “Charlie Sharp” in the concert premiere of The Amputation of Charlie Sharp (Hakenberg) at the “NOW” festival in the Zollverein coking plant in Essen. Most recently in February he was involved as a soloist in a university production of the Johannes Passion.
