Maria Rudin

At the age of four years old Maria Rudin began her musical career by singing under the supervision of her father, the composer William Porras, in major commercial productions in Costa Rica. She also studied singing with Mary Peck and visiting the Costa Rican Conservatory "Conservatorio de Castella". In 2005 she was selected as one of the first fellows for the foundation “Jóvenes Cantantes MP”. In 2011 she recieved her diploma from the Conservatorio di Perugia in Italy. Mrs. Rudin has performed in the theater Morlacchi and sang as Lida in "Battaglia di Legnano" by Verdi. This was followed by other performances in Italy, such as Bassano in Teverina with the Youth Orchestra of the Academy of Santa Cecilia.

She is currently pursuing a Masters in vocal studies and is a permanent member of the choir and the octet of the Capella Musicale in the Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi with whom she participated as a soloist and choir member for international events such as the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize.


In 2001 Rudin was the winner of "Artista Revelación Juvenil" (Youth Artist Revelation), as well as ACAM for the CD "En Navidad y Año Nuevo" (At Christmas and New Year). In 2013 she received third prize for "Concorso Internazionale di Canto Riviera Etrusca ", Piombino, Italy.

Probably the most notable feature of Ms. Rudin is her varied repertoire of musical styles. Her repertoire ranges from baroque music and opera to Latin music to jazz.
