Brent Douglas
Brent Doulgas, conductor, pianist and choir teacher is widely known for his musical versatility and charismatic stage presence. He holds a Masters degree from the University of South Florida where he worked with Dr. William Wiedrich studied. He studied with Michael Francis (Florida Orchestra) and Harold Faberman. In May 2016 he performed together with the Berlin Sinfonietta. He has also performed with the Gwinnett Chamber Philharmonic, Georgia, USA (the Bard College Summer Symphony Orchestra). He is a respected lecturer, primarily he made his career as a pianist in collaboration with singers and instrumentalists. He is the choir director of the faculty at Eckerd College, where he teaches piano. He plays the piano and celesta in the Florida Orchestra.
Brent Douglas was appointed first conductor of the Düsseldorf Lyric Opera because of his many years of experience in the opera world and his incredible musicality as a conductor and pianist. He is not only a great support for the singers and musicians, but also an active part in the further development of the DLO in the area of ​​schedule design, compilation of singers and musicians and fund raising. In November 2017 Brent Douglas will conduct WA Mozart's Magic Flute.
